The Arts

The centre has hosted a wide variety of revered arts organisations and activities over the decades. Acclaimed groups such as  Dynamo Youth Theatre, Solent Male Voice Choir and Havant District Orchestra regularly use our hall and rooms for rehearsals and performances.

Dynamo Youth Theatre

Mon and Thu Evenings
Dynamo Youth Theatre is a performance- based theatre group providing high quality drama, music and dance experience for young people aged between 11 and 19.

Havant and District Orchestral Society

Dates Fridays at 18:30

We encompass two orchestras: Havant Symphony Orchestra and Havant Chamber Orchestra.

We create opportunities for adults who play orchestral instruments to meet and play together regularly. Giving everyone an opportunity to hear classical music played live in their community.

Solent Male Voice Choir

Dates Tuesdays at 19:30

The Solent Male Voice Choir is a four-part all male choir.

We currently have around 24 choir members and we sing for fun, singing in four to six concerts per year. SMVC is also available for weddings, funerals, parties and all types of celebrations.

Learning by Art: u3a Havant

We are a small, friendly group of u3a Havant members who enjoy creating art; a sociable group of mixed abilities where everyone works on their own projects and at their own pace.  There is no formal instruction, but an opportunity to learn from each other through discussion, sharing ideas and skills.

Whether you draw with graphite, charcoal, pastels or coloured pencils or paint with watercolours, oils, acrylics or even paint by numbers or use adult colouring books, you will be welcome.  Bring along all your own materials and if we can keep works to a maximum size of A3, that will help with getting along with your neighbours.

We produce a monthly newsletter and organise a few outings to exhibitions and art trails, plus some visits where we can work outdoors.

We meet at The Pallant in the Garden Room on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10am to 12noon.  For further information or details on how to join, please contact Nigel Gossop on 023 9237 5594 or email: nigelgossop53@gmail.com
